Why different Schools of Yoga

Vivekanada has said at one place as why there are so many path for realization? Because there are different kinds of people in the world, because there are different kinds of attitudes, there are different kinds of psycho-physical constituents, these enable them to pursue the path with matching their ability and potential.

The above argument can be rephrased with following points –

  • Yoga  is  search for the highest within, i.e. Self Discovery, which is  awakening Human Potential

  • Not all can follow the similar practices

  • Different schools of Yoga for different temperament of people

  • Every School of Yoga uses one or more than one layers of existence predominantly to reach the Ultimate

Modern Yoga masters – Shankaracharya, Rama Krishna Paramhansa, Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo, Maharshi Raman, Maharshi Mahesh Yogi, Swami Rama, Swami Kuvalyananda , Swami Yogananda , osho Rajaneesh, J. Krishnamurti
